Total assets of Nordea 2014-2023
The value of the total assets of the Nordic bank Nordea Bank Abp decreased annually during the period from 2014 to 2020. In 2021 and 2022, however, the value of Nordea's assets increased slightly. In 2023, the bank's assets amounted to 584.7 billion euros, making it the largest bank among the Nordic countries.
Change of headquarters
In October 2018, Nordea moved their headquarters from Stockholm to Helsinki. The reason was to move the bank into the Banking Union and the Single Supervisory Mechanism, which Finland, as the only one of Nordea’s home markets, was already a part of. As a result, Nordea’s Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio dropped in 2018, after it had increased every year since 2014. In 2021, Nordea Bank had a CET1 ratio of 17 percent.
